Calico Ridge's Foundation Stud Dogs 

A select few which you will see in many  of the pedigrees nationwide 

 "Hero" (Ch Calico Ridge Honky Tonk Hero ROM)  
Always a character.  Hero would bark for more bait with bait in his mouth.  A group placing dog that was correct in conformation and excelled in style.  His get could be seen for generations from the style and movement that he passed on.  He was the biggest little dog at 25 3/4 at the shoulder and 29 in spirit.  Hero had presence in the ring that made you acknowledge him whether you liked him or not.

    "Tali" (Ch Calico Ridge Mystic Talisman ROM)   1972 RRCUS National Specialty Winner, Tali was my "working dog" as he helped protect and herd the sheep.  A National Specialty winner, he was my constant companion.

  "Doc" (Ch Calico Ridge Solid Gold Hero ROM)  A Liver nosed dog.  He won the OCRRC Specialty under Anne Clark. His daughter went BOS.  Well muscled, outstanding movement and great temperament.  It is interesting to note that Doc and my current stud dog, Doctor Dog are very similiar in type.

  "Tamerlane" (Ch Calico Ridge The Warlord ROM)

Tamerlane had a big, easy going, groundcovering movement.  A "classic head piece topped it off.

  "Blue" (Ch Calico Ridge California Blue ROM)   In Blue's short 5 years he not only earned his ROM but also went BIS in Reno, 1982.  Upstanding, classic headpiece, big side gait when he wished to use it.  Sometimes he would just decide to go for a stroll and swing his behind like a hooker out for the evening.  Blue took his type from his dam Cajun Queen.
