Calico Ridge Kennels was established in 1962 by Diane Jacobsen. At first the dogs were bred under the name "Baulenes", but became "Calico Ridge" in 1968. Since then there have been well over 200 champions and many obedience and performance titled dogs to our credit.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback is not for the faint of heart. You are required to be a positive trainer, the provider of endless activity, have a good sense of humor and yet be the leader of the pack. If you are up to the challenge, read on. And then see what you think!
