Puppies

Litters are whelped and raised in my home, under my continual observation.  Puppies do not go home until they are 8 weeks of age.  Puppies are always socialized with all who visit, vet checked and provided invaluable litter socialization, play & stimulation.  But, sometimes ...

they just poop out from all the fun!

But JUST ADD WATER and they come right back to life!

While no particular puppy can be determined to grow up to become any one particular type of dog as an adult, after many years of knowing my dogs, their get and getting to know future owners and their desires, helps me to be better able to place the right puppy with the right home and family.



SHOW PROSPECTS:

Calico Ridge Show Prospect puppies are occasionally available to approved homes.  These puppies are not "guaranteed" to become Champions, but they are selected from a litter by me and evaluated as being show and breeding prospects.

PERFORMANCE DOGS:

Performance dogs have many different types of skills, and sometimes work or perform in more than one venue:

• Obedience
• Agility
• Lure Ccoursing
• Tracking
• Herding

 
Occasionally Working Dogs are also considered "Performance Dogs".  A Working Dog is usually a Therapy or Service Dog but can also be called a Performance Dog.

Over the years, Calico Ridge dogs have excelled in many areas of Performance competition, worked hard for their owners as well as proven themselves to be of great assistance to their owners and others.


You might consider checking with AKC to determine which, if any, performance events you might like to participate in with your dog.

However, if I do not have the type of puppy you are looking to bring into your family, I will do my best to help you locate what you want ~ whether it be a Show Dog, a Pet, a Performance Dog such as Obedience, Agility, Herding, Lure Coursing or other need.  Over the years of my breeding, because of their temperament, intelligence and sensativity, Calico Ridge dogs have also performed as seeing eye, therapy & service dogs.
